Microsoft is preparing a large-scale redesign of Windows 10, which all users of the system will be able to evaluate with the update 21H2, which is due out this fall. The company is already testing new interface elements as part of the Windows Insider Program. In one of the latest builds, Microsoft has dramatically changed the look of File Explorer.
As you can see, the company has completely redesigned the icons – they are now done in the Fluent design, which replaces the old Modern. Also, the increased distances between the Explorer interface elements are striking: most likely, Microsoft did this for the convenience of touch control.
And these are far from the only changes in the interface that we will see in Windows 10 21H2. The company plans to make most of the system windows rounded and “floating”, as well as redesign the Action Center, turning it into an Action Center. This will be the biggest change to the design of Windows 10 since its release in 2015.
