MediaTek, the world’s largest mobile chipmaker, continues to make strides and expand its list of key partners. It’s hard to imagine, but only recently associated with budget devices, the company’s products will form the basis of Apple products, according to the Chinese publication Economic Daily.
So, MediaTek has successfully entered the Cupertinian tech giant’s supply chain and will start supplying chips in February-March this year. They will be designed for the new Beats wireless headsets, which are still equipped with chips of Apple’s own design. And although representatives of MediaTek said that they “cannot comment” on this event, it is significant and may become the beginning of a new stage in the company’s development.
