Windows 10 will get a new “Explorer” in a year.

New File Manager Coming With Windows 21H2 Update!

Microsoft is preparing for the Windows 10 operating system a new vision of one of the critical components – the file manager File Explorer (Explorer). According to the latest reports, the redesigned Explorer will not be available until one year later.

The new Explorer should be part of the big Windows 21H2 fall update. That being said, the spring update 21H1 will be small, if ever released.

Among the expected innovations of “Explorer,” for example, deeper integration with cloud storage OneDrive. A more touch-oriented version is also possible, including larger icons and optimized spacing between elements. However, the tabbed support requested by users for years is likely never to come.
