Apple has released the second beta of iOS 14.5 to authorized developers. In addition to fixing bugs and improving stability, the update brought a lot of interesting things.
Traditionally, we warn you: we do not recommend installing beta versions, especially those intended for developers if you are not. The systems are “raw”, and much does not work, the autonomy is not the best, so users’ experience may suffer.
What’s new in the second beta of iOS 14.5?
If you installed the update and found something else – write in the comments. Below is a list of what we noticed:
- New emoji. New people and their combinations, a burning heart, a smiley face in smoke, as well as emoji updates for full-size headphones (AirPods Max replaced them) and a syringe (made a neutral look);
- Some iPhone 12 owners have lost the greenish tint that I talked about back in December;
- Mention of Optimized Charging for Smart Battery Cases. Only the wording is strange and suggests that Apple may release new accessories to charge your smartphones. Whether these will be portable batteries with MagSafe or simply cases is unclear;
- Privacy with iPad Smart Folio. The new beta for tablets introduces an option that completely mutes the microphone every time the Smart Folio is closed. Works on the latest current iPad Pro, Air, and basic eighth-generation iPad;
- In “Commands” you can add the creation of a screenshot for any action;
- Apple Music now has slides for adding tracks to the beginning or end of the play queue.
That’s all. We are waiting for the final version, but there is no approximate release date. I suppose that the system can be released with the announcement of new devices in the spring.
