Stellar Converter for EDB – Best Software to Convert Exchange EDB File to PST

Stellar Converter for EDB is a powerful application that is packed with features to convert EDB into PST and other formats, export EDB data to another server, and migrate data from on-premises Exchange to Office 365. The native tools of Exchange Server can only export data if the database is mounted or the Exchange server is running. However, Stellar Converter for EDB can open multiple EDB files and export from them even if your Exchange Server is not running.

The application is highly recommended by many Exchange Server Admins. It can open EDB file from any Exchange Server version, without any file size limitation. If you want to extract data from an existing Exchange Server, there is no need to dismount the database as the application can open EDB file from Hosted Exchange. The software not only exports mailboxes, but also exports archives, shared mailboxes, disconnected mailboxes, and public folders. It can also save the EDB data in PST and other file formats, such as HTML, PDF, EML, and MSG. It can export directly to a live Exchange Server database of any version or an Office 365 tenant.

Scenarios where Stellar Converter for EDB can come handy

Here are some scenarios in which Stellar Converter for EDB can be of great help.

Extracting Data from Decommissioned Exchange Server

If you need to export mailboxes from a decommissioned 2007 Exchange Server, you will not be able to mount the machine and possibly you can only export the EDB file from the old tape. With the native tools, you will not be able to extract or read any data from EDB files. Stellar Converter for EDB can open any version of Microsoft Exchange Server from 5.5 till the latest 2019 and export data even from a decommissioned database file.

CU Failed and Ended with Offline EDB File

If an issue occurs during Cumulative Updates, you would end up with corrupted installation of Exchange and offline EDB file. Extracting data from Offline EDB without losing data can be a difficult process. However, you can extract all the data from offline EDB file with Stellar Converter for EDB.

Migrating from Exchange Server to Office 365

When migrating from on-premises Exchange to Office 365, you need to export the mailboxes to PST and then manually upload to Office 365 using the Upload PST method. Also uploading public folders can be a bit of a complicated matter with scripts. With Stellar Converter for EDB, you can easily migrate current mailbox database, offline EDB files, disabled mailboxes, public folders, and other items with ease.

Migrating Mailboxes from One Exchange Server to Another

When upgrading to a newer Exchange Server, in a normal scenario, you can easily setup the new Exchange Server (co-existing) and move the data. But what if your Exchange Server is limiting the co-existence or you need to upgrade from Exchange Server 2010 to 2019 without first migrating to Exchange Server 2013 or 2016? In such cases, you can use Stellar Converter for EDB to migrate the data. It offers features such as automatic/manual mailbox mapping from the source (EDB file) to the destination, priority exports for critical mailboxes, parallel exports to increase the performance of the export, and continuation of export in case the process is interrupted.

Verdict

As you can see, Stellar Converter for EDB does justice to its hype. The application is very smooth and worth having in your Exchange Administration tools. The application can granularly export from any version of Exchange Server and open multiple EDB files. The interface is easy to browse. To add more, if you purchase the Toolkit version, it comes with bundled applications that will surely come in handy.

To be honest, I couldn’t find any cons with the application, except the price which could be a little friendly. The application has exceeded the expectations with its simple but powerful features.
