Samsung Display showcased the latest advances in screens for various devices at the SID (Society for Information Display) Display Week 2021, held from 17 to 21 May.
In particular, an S-shaped flexible display is shown. This panel is based on organic light-emitting diodes (OLED) and has two-fold lines. In the folded state, the user will deal with a smartphone, in the unfolded state – with a full-fledged tablet computer.
Another novelty is a foldable display measuring 17 inches diagonally. Devices equipped with this panel will be able to operate in laptop and tablet mode. It is known that the aspect ratio of the screen is 4: 3.
In addition, Samsung has developed a pull-out display for smartphones. Such a panel can curl inside the body of the cellular device. If necessary, the user can pull it out, having at his disposal a large screen for viewing multimedia materials or working with several applications at once.
Finally, a display for notebook computers with Under Panel Camera (UPC) technology is shown. Behind such a screen is a video conferencing camera. This design allows you to minimize the width of the upper frame above the display.
