MacBooks with M1 processors can no longer install Windows 10 via BootCamp, but the other day It revealed that the CrossOver emulator allows you to run Windows programs and games 10. Now developer Thomas Schranz published a summary table with games for different platforms, which the first owners of the brand new MacBooks on ARM-based Apple M1 chips managed to test so far. Surprisingly, the new MacBooks turned out to be quite gaming with all the features.
To date, users have already tested about 100 different games. Most of the games on the list are projects available on Macs with Intel processors. They were launched thanks to the Rosetta 2 emulator. The list also includes several titles for iOS, supported natively, and even versions of Windows 10 launched through the CrossOver emulator.
Blizzard’s MMORPG World of Warcraft is the only PC game to support the M1 ARM processor. On a 13-inch MacBook Pro (M1) with 8GB RAM, it runs in 1080p 60 fps with medium graphics settings. Among Us for Windows 10 can be played on it via CrossOver in 1080p 60 fps, Borderlands 3 Coming Through Rosetta 1080p 30 fps at medium settings, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided at 24 fps, and Shadow of the Tomb Raider at 26 fps at high settings in FHD and 38 fps at low settings at 1920 × 1200.
In general, as you can see, many games from the list, which, by the way, is still being updated, run on new Macs with ARM chips at comfortable 1080p 60 fps. This can be considered an excellent result for an ultra-thin non-gaming laptop without a discrete graphics card (and passively cooled in the MacBook Air) case.
