New 16-inch MacBook Pro To Debut At WWDC 2021 If Rumors And Leaks Are True

For some time now, there have been rumors that Apple is preparing to launch new 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pros based on the new proprietary ARM chipset. It is reported that computers will receive Mini-LED-matrix and an expanded set of physical connectors. Some sources report that at least one of the models will be showcased at WWDC 2021, which kicks off on June 7th. And the MacRumors edition found an indirect confirmation of this.

A battery certification record with model number A2527 was found in the Chinese regulator’s database, which was registered by Apple supplier Sunwoda Electronic on April 14. This battery is not used in any existing Apple computer, but its specifications are very similar to the battery used in the current 16-inch MacBook Pro.

The battery has a capacity of 8639 mAh at 11.45 V. This is very similar to the battery parameters of the latest generation 16-inch MacBook Pro, which has 8790 mAh and produces a voltage of 11.36 V. Also, MacRumors specialists found in the database the A2519 battery, which is expected to be used in the 14-inch MacBook Pro. Its capacity will be 6068 mAh at a voltage of 13.05 V. Of course, the battery certification does not indicate an early announcement, but it indicates that Apple is already at a rather late stage of preparing new products for release. And accordingly, the announcement is not far off.

The new MacBook Pro is expected to receive a wide array of physical ports, including a magnetic MagSafe charging connector, an HDMI port, and even an SD card reader. According to rumors, the new laptops will be based on a significantly improved, compared to the current M1, the company’s proprietary ARM chipset.

As a reminder, Apple’s WWDC 2021 Developer Conference kicks off on June 7th. At several events, Apple will showcase its latest software platforms. There is no reliable information yet on whether any hardware products will be shown.
