Shortly after the launch of this device in the United States, the company decided to stop distributing it in other regions. Now Microsoft plans to launch Surface Duo in different areas, starting in the European market early next year. It is noteworthy that the device has already passed certification in Japan, the UK, and Canada.
According to the latest reports, the Redmond giant is in talks with mobile carriers in the UK to launch the Surface Duo in early 2021. However, it is unclear if the company is adhering to similar launch dates for other markets.
Users get two 5.6-inch screens each. The resolution of each panel is 1800 x 1350 pixels. The full resolution is 2700 x 1800 pixels. The smartphone is built based on a single-chip system Snapdragon 855. The battery capacity is 3566 mAh, there is support for 18-watt charging. The case has a thickness of 4.8 and 9.6 mm when opened and folded, respectively. The camera resolution is only 11 megapixels.
The smartphone received stylus support but lacks NFC and 5G support. It is hard to believe that it can compete with smartphones with flexible screens, gradually gaining popularity.
