So far only in the USA!
Microsoft has officially announced that the Microsoft HoloLens 2 Development Edition is available to software developers in the United States. The device was presented back in February 2019, and the release of the novelty was expected a year ago.
As reported last year, the HoloLens 2 Development Edition is priced at $ 3,500, with customers receiving bonuses such as:
- Azure Credits ($ 500 regular price)
- 3 months Unity Pro license ($ 450)
- 3 months Pixyz Plugin license ($ 300)
HoloLens 2 is vastly superior to the original model. The first-generation HoloLens had a 34-degree viewing angle. In the second generation, the viewing angle has increased to 52 degrees. Although the resolution remains, the same, performance has been improved. Microsoft has given the headset more processing power as well as hardware acceleration for eye and hand tracking. Also, the headset has become more comfortable.
By the end of the year, the novelty will be available in Canada, Germany, France, Italy, Great Britain, Ireland, Switzerland, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand.
