Microsoft fixes app store crashes in Windows 10

Windows 10 users worldwide today faced the Microsoft Store problem not working for several hours. The service did not allow downloading and installing applications, and after numerous attempts, it completely “hung.”

When trying to download an application from the Microsoft Store, users saw the “forever” loading or “frozen” page of the software of interest. At this point, the service did not react in any way to pressing the “Get” button, which usually prompts you to download an application or game.

When trying to access various Microsoft Store features, such as the downloads page, the page loading symbol was constantly spinning on the screen. After several attempts, the service finally “froze,” which could be closed exclusively through the “Task Manager” or by pressing the ALT + F4 keyboard shortcut. After that, the following error window appeared on the screen, which indicated that the Windows Store could not interact with the operating system.

After a while, Microsoft issued a statement in which it indicated that the service was working correctly again.

“The service has been restored and provides a normal level of work. We thank our customers for their patience, ” Microsoft said in a message to BleepingComputer.

The company did not specify what caused the Microsoft Store to crash. Whether this was part of the planned maintenance of the service, some problems related to the recent cumulative update for Windows 10 or problems with the Microsoft Azure network are not specified.
