LG has unveiled three new Tone Free wireless earbuds. These are the FP5, FP8, and FP9 models. These headphones received self-cleaning from bacteria, an active noise cancellation system, and a “whisper” mode.
If the user does not want to speak too loudly or needs increased privacy, he can remove the right earpiece and, by raising it to his lips, use it as a dedicated microphone. In addition to a quieter conversation, the new function improves the audibility of the interlocutor’s voice. LG calls Whispering Mode “the perfect solution for making calls in places like a library or a crowded subway train.”
The Tone Free FP 2021 line supports active noise cancellation, which is responsible for three microphones in each earbud. All new headphones are compatible with Android and iOS smartphones, are IPX4 waterproof and have Meridian Audio sound settings that include surrounding audio and 3D Sound Stage. New speakers have been announced to improve bass and maintain clarity and detail. For a comfortable fit in the ears, the design of the headphone case has been redesigned and the length of the “leg” has been reduced by 4.4 mm.
The headphones come with a UVnano charging case that uses UV light to disinfect the inside of the headset. The battery life of all three models reaches up to 10 hours, together with the case – up to 24 hours, but it is not specified whether the ANC is on or off.
The cost of the Tone Free FP 2021 models and the timing of the start of sales of new headphones in LG have not yet been announced.
