IPhone 12 Pro Demand Surprises Apple

The demand for the iPhone 12 Pro was significantly higher than predicted. This is reported by the famous insider Ming-Chi Kuo, who back in June 2019 named the diagonal of the iPhone 12 displays.

And in January of this year – the main feature and the exact number of smartphone models that Apple released in 2020.

According to Solntselikiy (as we call Ming-Chi on GeekRar.com), the iPhone 12 Pro’s high demand surprised Apple. Nobody names the exact numbers, but analysts assumed that the demand for a regular iPhone 12 would be higher than for a “proshka.” But in fact, it turned out that smartphones are sold about the same.

Apple’s surprise confirms another factor: DigiTimes, citing Taiwanese supply chains, claims that the company ordered additional VCSEL chips needed for the LiDAR scanner installed in the Pro version of the iPhone 12. This is one of the main elements that distinguish the two versions of iPhones; therefore, it can be assumed that the company was not ready for real demand.

According to Min-Chi Kuo, in November, all four iPhone 12 models will be sold at the following ratio:

iPhone 12 Pro Max and iPhone 12 mini will go on sale on November 13.
