iPad Pro with Mini-LED screen AND NEW MACBOOK PRO due in 2021

TSMC will benefit most from Apple’s supply chain partners

Chinese sources confirm Apple will release its first iPad Pro with a Mini-LED screen in the first quarter of 2021, and MacBook Pro laptops with similar displays will hit the market in the second quarter of next year.

Apple’s Taiwan supplier chain includes LED chip manufacturer Epistar, testing and sorting company FitTech, SMT Taiwan Meter Technology service company, backlight board supplier Zhending Technology, thermal solution provider Auras Technology, and process equipment manufacturer Quanhuan Technology. These companies are poised for the sales boost that is expected amid preparations for new Apple products.

The source also said Foxconn Technology and Compal Electronics would split orders for the iPad Pro with a Mini-LED display. As for the MacBook Pro laptops, which will be based on Apple’s own single-chip system, they will be mainly produced by Quanta Computers and partially by Foxconn.

Among Apple’s supply chain partners, TSMC will benefit the most as the plant has received all orders for 5nm single-chip systems for the new iPad Pro and MacBook Pro, the report said. According to DigiTimes, TSMC’s revenue in the first fiscal quarter may hit a new high.
