Intel wants to make Silicon chips for Apple. The money has already been allocated

Intel will release ARM chips in new factories and hopes that Apple will become its main customer. The representatives of the company told about it.

According to the new CEO of Intel, Pat Gelsinger, by 2025, the company will enter the global market for the production of processors called Intel Foundry Services (IFS) and a capitalization of about $ 100 billion. For the construction of $ 20 billion. IFS will seek partnerships with Apple, Google, Microsoft and Qualcomm, since they do not have their own production. At the moment, processors for the same Apple are, in fact, produced by TSMC at its factories. Intel plans to produce, among others, ARM chips for mobile devices – smartphones and tablets, and in the future wants to become a major chip supplier in the United States and Europe.

Pat Gelsinger mentioned separately that in its plans, the company sees a potential client in Apple and is very much looking forward to producing processors for it again. “The story of the Intel Mac may not be over yet,” he said.

At the moment, Apple does not use Intel chips at all in mobile devices and is also gradually phasing out them in Mac computers, replacing Intel processors with Silicon’s own ARM chips. According to the company’s plans, the Mac will completely switch to Apple Silicon within the next few years. Intel previously released a series of commercials, which consistently compares Mac and PC in favour of the latter. As the main character, Intel invited actor Justin Long, who starred in commercials for computers from Apple several years ago.
