How to Download Python 3.7 for Windows 11/10 from Microsoft Store

Last month, the Python Software Foundation quietly published Python 3.7 in the Microsoft Store for Windows 11/10 devices. Python 3.7 for Windows 11/10 is a simplified installer for running scripts and packages.

It won’t provide you with a full installer that includes all the components, and current features may not be stable in this release. The developers are still working, and their software will soon be fully ready for the Microsoft Store.

You can download and install a simple Python package on any supported version of Windows 11/10.

“The Microsoft Store package is a simple Python installation that is suitable for running scripts and packages and using IDLE or other development environments. This requires Windows 11/10 but can be safely installed without damaging other programs. It also provides many handy commands to run Python and its tools.”

In our testing, “Python 3.7” ran the scripts as expected. You can run Python Shell and execute the code directly in it, as shown below.

You can also create Python scripts and run them from the command line.

The Microsoft Store version of Python 3.7 is very simple, but it’s good enough to run simple scripts. The Microsoft Store will receive all updates automatically when they are released, and no action is required on your part. If you are interested, you can download it from the store here.
