Apple’s harshness could cause large iPhone shortages

The reason is Apple’s reaction to violations of the working conditions of two major iPhone assembly partners!

As reported by Digitimes, there may be a shortage of iPhone smartphones in the market, but this time it has nothing to do with the coronavirus. The reason is Apple’s reaction to the breaches of the working conditions of two major iPhone assembly partners.

Apple was forced to put iPhone assembler Wistron on probation last week after a riot broke out at the factory. Apple investigated and found the employees were right. As a result, the company decided to ban Wistron from receiving any new iPhone-related orders until Wistron could guarantee Apple that employees would be treated properly. Wistron was going to hire 20,000 workers next year to make more iPhones. However, it is not yet clear when Apple will allow Wistron to continue working.

Earlier in November, Pegatron was found to have violated local labor laws. The company was also given a suspended sentence and banned from receiving new Apple orders until it corrects its problems. The manufacturer was accused of falsifying documentation, allowing some students to work at night and overtime and do work not related to their specialty. To make matters worse, Pegatron and those involved allegedly went to “extraordinary measures” to cover up the violations.

In parallel with this information, there was information that the Cupertino-based company has increased the number of orders for the iPhone 12 for the first quarter of next year.
