Apple will answer in the court for deliberately slowing down old iPhones

The Italian consumer association Altroconsumo has filed a class-action suit against Apple for deliberately slowing down older iPhones. It is reported that the Cupertinos are demanding damages for 60 million euros due to the practice of artificial obsolescence, which was declared illegal by the local authorities.

According to the association, the lawsuit applies to the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, 6S and 6S Plus, which were sold in Italy between 2014 and 2020. In total, about 1 million such devices were sold.

We will remind, earlier two similar lawsuits against Apple were sold in Belgium and Spain. The European consumer association Euro consumers, which is coordinating the three lawsuits, also plans to file a class-action lawsuit in Portugal in the next few weeks.
