Apple Silicon Mac Computers Can Run Any IOS Application, But The Initiative Has Not Received Support From Major Developers

During the upcoming One More Thing event, two new Apple Silicon Macs are expected to be announced: a 13-inch MacBook Air and a 13-inch MacBook Pro. Earlier during WWDC 2020, the company already revealed that Apple Silicon Mac devices would run any application for the mobile operating system iOS, which is an important benefit for consumers. But this does not mean that the owners of new devices will actually be able to run any iOS applications on Apple Silicon Mac.

For the opportunity to become a reality, it is also necessary for developers to make their applications available for new computers. However, major iOS app developers have decided not to launch their products in the Mac Apple Store for future Apple Silicon Mac computers. Knowledgeable sources report this. Among such major developers, Google is mentioned, which will not offer popular applications such as YouTube, Google Maps, and Gmail for new systems. A similar decision was made by Facebook, which did not add its social network application and other products to the store: Instagram, WhatsApp, and Messenger.

But not all developers adhere to this policy. Amazon Prime Video and Disney + streaming apps, and Snapchat will be available on the Mac App Store.

It is also reported that owners of new Apple Silicon Mac computers may see the following notice in the app store:

“Made for iPad. Not tested for macOS. “

This means that if the application is not compatible with new systems, the App Store will prompt the user to download it to the iPhone or iPad.

Perhaps large application developers are not yet porting their products to Apple Silicon Macs to avoid possible operational problems. It probably takes a while to make additional changes and make sure that the applications work correctly on the new platform.
