Apple is close to agreements with Hyundai and Kia to release its own electric car

The American corporation Apple (“Apple”) is close to agreements with South Korean companies Hyundai Motor Company (“Hyundai Motor Company”) and Kia Motor (“Kia Motor”) to jointly produce in the US a self-driving car with an electric motor. This was announced on Wednesday by CNBC.

According to his sources, we are talking about the release of electric cars under the Apple brand. It is assumed that the American corporation, in particular, will be responsible for the development of software and hardware.

These cars’ production can begin as early as 2024 at the Kia plant in the American city of West Point (Georgia). The start of production may be postponed.

Sources noted that no final agreements have yet been reached between the companies. Official confirmation from their representatives has not yet been reported. According to the TV channel, Apple may decide to work on this project with other automakers.

The publication emphasizes that Apple intends to establish the production of cars that a computer will control without a driver’s participation. According to the channel, this could mean that electric cars will be used, in particular, for delivery or as a taxi.
