Apple Announces Release Date for Foundation Series Based on Asimov’s Book Series

The Foundation Apple TV + series, based on Isaac Asimov’s classic science fiction novels, is undoubtedly one of the highlights of the year. And we just found out when the series will start airing on the streaming service.

New information about the series comes from an interview with writer David S. Goyer and executive producer Michael Malone to LovinMalta. It is in Malta that filming takes place.

According to the publication, the first season of “Foundation” (translation: Foundation) will consist of 10 episodes and released in the fall of 2021. That is, approximately during the last three months of this year. These first 10 episodes are just the tip of the iceberg; however, LovinMalta says current plans include 80 impressive episodes.

Speaking about the location itself, Goyer said that “Malta has always been part of the plan. We have a water planet in the scenario, and Malta has many water reservoirs – there are not many of them in the world. ”

Goyer states that due to the pandemic and its impact on filming, the team “decided to expand their presence in Malta,” Other areas of the island nation now represent several different locations in the series.

Asimov’s series of novels focuses on a futuristic and cosmic human civilization. Hari Seldon (played by Jared Harris) hopes to improve humanity through his psycho-historical theory of predicting the future.

Other details of Apple’s approach to the sci-fi epic are unknown, and nothing more has been revealed since the teaser trailer was released last June. In the meantime, you can watch the trailer, and it’s really cool.
