Amazon has opened a hairdresser where you can try on virtual hairstyles

In the past, Amazon has reinvented supermarket shopping by launching Go stores that don’t have human cashiers. Now the company has decided to introduce technology into the hairdressing business. As part of this activity, a hairdressing salon was opened in London. Clients can use a special augmented reality application to see how they will look with different hairstyles and hair colors.

Augmented reality technology is used through a tablet computer built into the mirror with the appropriate software. The salon client is located in front of the front camera of the tablet, after which in a special application, he can see how different shades of color and hairstyle will look, thus choosing the best option.

Customers at Amazon can also try point-and-know technology, which lets you get information about the product and manufacturer when you hover your tablet over a product. After receiving this information, the buyer can scan the corresponding QR code to complete the product they like on the Amazon website.

The salon also offers traditional hairdressing services provided by local professionals. At the moment, only employees of the company can use the services of a hairdresser, but in the next few weeks, it will open its doors to everyone. It is also known that Amazon has no plans to expand its network of hairdressing salons that use augmented reality. Instead, the company considers the already opened showroom as a testing ground for new technologies and showcasing its beauty products.
