All iPhones released in 2022 will support 5G

All models of iPhone smartphones, which will be released in 2022, will support 5G networks, according to the Japanese newspaper Nikkei, citing sources. Apple will stop releasing 4G models, they said.

In addition, according to the interlocutors of the publication, the American company will not update the iPhone mini next year. Apple felt the small-screen gadget “failed to catch on” with customers.

Instead, the company intends to release an updated version of the iPhone SE with 5G support. The release of this smartphone is scheduled for the first half of 2022, writes Nikkei. It will be powered by the Apple-designed A15 processor, which offers better performance and 5G connectivity via a Qualcomm X60 modem chip.

Apple declined to comment on information about the alleged new products.

Bloomberg previously reported that Apple implements the always-on screen mode in the new generation of the iPhone smartphone. According to the agency, the new iPhone will also receive a redesigned display and will also run on the A15 processor.
