Update brings together mode for video conferencing and more!
Microsoft has put a lot of effort into video conferencing with Microsoft Teams this year, but it hasn’t forgotten about Skype either with a big update to users’ delight.
The Skype 8.67 update is available for web, Windows, macOS and Linux, and Android. One of the most significant innovations is the Together Mode, previously launched in Microsoft Teams.
Together Mode uses AI-powered technology to digitally position participants against a backdrop. It creates the feeling that you are sitting in the same room, such as a classroom, coffee shop, or conference room.
Another important innovation is the Large Grid View, which allows you to display up to 49 participants at a time. To switch between modes during a video call, you need to click on the button at the top of the window and select what you need from the menu.
Also, it became possible to add interlocutors during a call by their phone number or Skype, new preset background images and image categories were added, for Windows 10 users, there was support for the Meet Now function to start a video call with one click on the icon on the taskbar, and for Android users – Support for “bubbles” or Bubbles for alerts in Android 11.
